The challenge

The Club Sportivo Central Argentino, after 67 years of experience and countless stories, set itself the goal of laying a parquet floor in its “La Caldera” stadium. The institution did not have the financial support required, so facing the budget for the work implied the financial collaboration of third parties or entities to be able to carry it out. It is with this need that CSCA approaches Social Up.

Ready to take on the challenge and respond their needs, the team embraced the project and began to create. Thus, the sum of knowledge, creativity, enthusiasm and hard work yielded a result beyond our expectations

Right from the start

We knew that our first step was to find a way for users to understand the logic and contribute to the project in a simple manner, offering ease when purchasing meters and turning it into a fun and engaging process. In this way, and adapting to current trends, we deemed it appropriate to create a web application that allows users to interact from the comfort and simplicity of their own space.

Once the idea was defined, the business logic for the application was conceived, and the stages in which we would develop it were analyzed.

Development and challenge

Every project is a new opportunity to explore and acquire new knowledge, and this was no exception. The first big challenge was learning React and Firebase, both of which we hadn't had the opportunity to use before and were necessary in this application. So, we set out to incorporate new knowledge and started development.

In the first place, and through the use of CANVAS (canvas) we would capture a basketball court, representing the future stadium, which would be divided into squares. Each square would represent a meter, which when selected and clicked on the pay button, would connect with Firebase so that the data obtained from the interface is saved.

As we progressed with the project, new issues began to arise, one of which was security. We had to establish a limit on the number of meters to buy, in order to facilitate the work of the people in charge of controlling the system. Thus, the number of purchases was reduced to five squares for each page reload.

Design

Last but not least, we worked on the design of the page, through which we would provide dynamism. There, our main challenge was to add confetti every time a person selected a square, in order to distinguish between those already purchased and those available. Once the application was finished, all that remained was to finalize details, such as making it responsive so that anyone from any device with access to a web browser can access and contribute to the realization of a project full of stories, challenges and purposes.

This way

In this way, every time a person or entity entered the web, they could see squares painted (already selected) and unpainted (available). On the other hand, those who contribute financially would have the possibility of promoting their logo or brand by uploading an image in their acquired spaces. In the same way, by clicking on the sold squares it would be possible to see the data of the owner.
